Dr. Allison S. Patchell named 2016 Veterinarian of The Year

Dr. Allison S. Patchell of Little Rock, and formerly of Heber Springs, was awarded the 2016 Arkansas Veterinarian of the Year while attending the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association winter meeting in Hot Springs Feb. 10th, -12th.   Dr. Patchell began her work in veterinary medicine in West Memphis, AR in 1980, followed by three years in Conway, AR at Conway Animal Clinic. She then relocated to Heber Springs, AR where she owned and operated Patchell Veterinary Clinic for 30 years. Since selling her practice in 2013, she has been dong relief work in the Central Arkansas area.  

Dr. Patchell is a current member of the American VMA and the Arkansas VMA and has spent countless hours volunteering with the Arkansas Veterinary Examining Board stuffing envelopes, opening mail and performing carious other office jobs during the license renewal season. Dr. Patchell was appointed to the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Examining Board by Governor Mike Huckabee in 2000, where she served two 5-year terms. 

Dr. Patchell is a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock, AR where she participates in mission work through the Pioneer Sunday School Class and also serves on the Family Promise Team to care for and feed families in need. She is also a member of the Arkansas Arts Center.

We congratulate Dr. Patchell on an award well deserved. You have served the veterinary profession well and you are an inspiration of all veterinarians.  Congratulations!!
