Shelter Veterinarian – Fayetteville Animal Services
Fayetteville Animal Services is seeking an upbeat, mission-driven veterinarian to join our team and make a meaningful impact in our community. This position is ideal for a DVM who believes that shelter medicine is about more than treating animals—it’s about collaboration, compassion, and saving lives.
Minimum Qualifications
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Current Arkansas veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
• A strong commitment to animal welfare and community impact
About the Role
Our Shelter Veterinarian plays a vital role in the success of our lifesaving programs and is a core member of our animal services team. Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing the health and wellbeing of shelter animals
• Operating our income-based spay/neuter program
• Collaborating daily with animal services staff to support positive outcomes for pets and people
Fayetteville Animal Services proudly maintains a live release rate well over 90%, and this position is key to sustaining and growing that success.
