Urgent Care Veterinarian

We are seeking a compassionate, confident, and motivated veterinarian to join our Urgent Care team. This position is ideal for a DVM who enjoys a fast-paced environment, same-day cases, and providing high-quality medical care without the traditional overnight demands of emergency medicine.

Our Urgent Care practice focuses on treating pets who need prompt medical attention but may not require full emergency or specialty-level care. We are looking for a veterinarian who can provide excellent medicine, communicate clearly with pet owners, and work collaboratively with a strong support team.

Responsibilities
-Examine, diagnose, and treat urgent and same-day veterinary cases.
-Manage common urgent-care conditions including vomiting, diarrhea, wounds, lameness, minor trauma, allergic reactions, ear and skin conditions, respiratory concerns, urinary issues, pain, and other acute illnesses.
-Stabilize patients when necessary and determine when referral or transfer to an emergency or specialty hospital is appropriate.
-Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans based on each patient’s individual needs.
-Perform diagnostic testing including laboratory testing, radiographs, and other in-house diagnostics.
-Perform minor surgical and medical procedures when appropriate.
-Prescribe medications and administer treatments in accordance with current veterinary standards.
-Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, costs, prognosis, and follow-up care.
-Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
-Work closely with veterinary technicians, assistants, CSRs, and other doctors to maintain efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.
-Provide medical guidance and support to the veterinary team during assigned shifts.
-Collaborate with primary-care veterinarians and emergency hospitals when follow-up or transfer of care is needed.
-Maintain high standards for patient safety, infection control, controlled substances, and hospital protocols.
-Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace.
-Maintain all required veterinary licensing and continuing-education requirements.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree.
Current or ability to obtain an Arkansas veterinary license.
Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
Ability to confidently manage a variety of urgent and same-day cases.
Excellent communication and client-service skills.
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining compassionate patient care.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Urgent care or emergency experience is preferred, but experienced general-practice veterinarians interested in transitioning into urgent care are encouraged to apply.
